My poor car is officially in the shop for the next few days. On July 20th I was driving home from work at Best Buy when I was rear-ended by a young teenage who had just finished shopping at Circuit City. The irony even at that time was amusing. I was driving a Plymouth Voyage (minivan) and she was driving a Kia Sephia...needless to say-my car won. Her car was totaled, especially when you consider that her car went under mine. Her radiator had been pierced and was leaking antifreeze, as well as, her engine was smoking. My car has about $1800 worth of damage with it needing a new bumper and a new bar holding it onto my car.
Other interesting news----this past Saturday, I was out shopping with my mom and sister (a last bonding experience thing before I went back to school). Anyway I got a call on my cell phone from work saying that the police wanted to talk to me about a check fraud incident. So I had to leave my mom and sister stranded at Kohl's and I had to run to Best Buy to talk to them. It was a fun interrogation *rolling of eyes* I had to give a description of the guy as well as ID him on a security camera. Then I had to fill out a statement form. After all of this, I was informed that I might have to converse with the FBI or Secret Service about this incident as well as potentially testify in court. Yikes...........
Today I worked a really long shift, but I did get to meet the Ram's offensive lineman, Orlando Pace. He came to my check out lane at Best Buy. He was kind enough to give me an autograph. I also won an autographed picture of Karl Urban as Eomer from LOTR off of EBay...that is definitely going up in my new apartment.
I wish tax free weekend wasn't this upcoming weekend. It is going to be a living hell at Best Buy, and I am priviledged enough to be there for all three festive days. It should be good money though.
Happiness returns day by day, the hurt is continuing to fade away. I am attempting to keep the self-doubt away. I had a man who joined my Stargate livejournal group tell me that he read my website and thought that I had a lot of soul, and that meant a lot to me. Yesterday I was shopping and I had an employee come up and tell me that he felt that I was destined for great things, which freaked me out a little. I lead a unique life, but it is fun.
